There Is No Good Or Bad, Only Perspective

I moved to Colorado in December, but it’s starting to feel like that’s not the case! I’ve been haunting Virginia for almost 3 weeks now. It was supposed to be a 5 day trip for Lauren to do some work and us to move the rest of our stuff to CO.

Things happen and I can’t leave until my truck is done in the repair shop. It feels like I’m stranded in a place I worked like hell to get out of. A few days ago my frustration reached a near exploding point. Fortunately, I have wonderful people around me who calmed me down and helped me reexamine my situation.

“Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.”

Look At What You Can Do, Not What You Can’t

It’s easy to get inside your head and focus on all the things that aren’t going your way or all the things you wish you could do. Even when things are really tough or look incredibly bleak, there’s always something you can do to refocus your mind and work within the confines of your situation.

It’s ok to want things to be different than they are. It’s ok to work to change those things. But it doesn’t do you any good to become so focused on the problems you’re facing that you ignore potential solutions. That’s exactly what I was doing and my community helped me snap out of it.

Regardless of what you’re going through or where you are, I hope you can find a way to see the potential from your situation. Find ways to make it work. Navigate your situation and build your life. Wishing you health and happiness. Take care.
